European Graduate Program

In May 2007 I started working as a Logistical Management Trainee for Cargill Cocoa and Chocolate in Wormer close to Amsterdam. The traineeship implies four different assignments, mostly in Wormer and possibly one of the assignments will take place abroad.
My first assignment took place at the cocoa powder planning department and I have been responsible for the total production planning of our plant in Ivory Coast (cocoa powder, butter and liquor) and the planning of a part of our cocoa powder production in Wormer.
Currently I am working as a bean forwarder. This job contains the responsibilities of getting the cocoa bean from its origin (mostly African countries) and transporting them to different storage locations in Europe.
Possible next assignments may involve transport, warehousing or other projects, due to which I am able to experience the entire cocoa supply chain!
One of the things that attracted me the most before applying for this job, was the diversity of assignments and the majority of possibilities Cargill offers. The programme is really focused on my development and knowledge achievement. The different international trainings and courses, which I follow together with my fellow European trainees from different professional backgrounds, definitely add to this experience. After terminating this traineeship a logical next step would be to manage one of the departments I worked in during my assignments: a big new challenge!
